Based out of Toronto Canada, II BY IV Design Associates have been in operation for 19 years. They are a boutique firm of 19 very talented and passionate people. Internationally, II BY IV has been honoured with more than 150 awards for interior design, lighting design, and the design of furniture and furnishings, in restaurant, retail, condominium, hotel, nightclub, exhibits, showroom, and office projects. The firm has been declared one of the world’s Top 50 Retail Designers. Their work has been featured in several TV productions and in countless publications in around the world.
The firm’s work demonstrates an expert interpretation of current and emerging consumer lifestyles, attitudes, and expectations, applied to the design of residential, retail, hospitality, commercial and special-purpose interiors.

Dan Menchions, Principal
Dan is an international award-winning interior designer with a unique combination of organizational and creative skills, a sound business sense and understanding of the market needs the profession can meet. He had a 22-year track record of achieving results for his clients.
Dan is also a leader among his peers, as a past member of the Board of Governors for the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO), a member of the Advisory Board of Food Service and Hospitality magazine, and nominee for The Premier’s Awards for Graduates of Ontario's Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology, which honour the important social and economic contribution college graduates make to Ontario.
Keith Rushbrook, Principal
Keith’s work has received many awards internationally as well as in Canada, for innovative designs for stores, restaurants, night clubs, exhibits, showrooms, offices, furniture and furnishings.
Following his studies at the University of New Brunswick, Keith completed his Bachelor of Applied Arts, Interior Design, at Toronto’s Ryerson Polytechnical Institute. Before co-founding II BY IV Design Associates, Keith’s career focused on the design of hospitality interiors and promotional exhibits around the world.
Dan and Keith
Dan and Keith made ARIDO history by being named that association’s Designers of the Year three times. Subsequently, they were named Designers of the Year for the Toronto Interior Design Show, in recognition that, “They have built and furnished public spaces that are events in and of themselves, and they have created lasting, beautiful spaces.” The DDI (Display & Design Ideas) awards program recognizing the leading visionaries and influencers declared them ‘Retail Innovators’. The partners have been guest speakers and lecturers for several ARIDO-sponsored events, as well as at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute; the University of Texas; the Hospitality Design Expo and Conference in Las Vegas; the American Design Institute’s Hospitality Design Symposium Orlando; the Store Fixturing Show, Chicago; and the Retail Council of Canada. Together, they were contracted to perform the art direction for the relaunch of a national design magazine, Canadian Interiors.
