Bernù Aero and inPower™ Flex Installed for Amtrak in Alton, IL

Bernù Aero seats have recently been installed for Amtrak at the newly built Alton Regional Multimodal Transportation Center in Alton, IL. Amtrak recently began serving the beautiful facility that includes a bright and spacious waiting room, bicycle facilities, and ample parking. The multimodal center was developed by the Illinois Department of Transportation (Illinois DOT) in conjunction with the city and MCT. The building is constructed of reddish brown brick and large expanses of glass allow in plenty of natural light. The sleek new seats offer a beautiful elegance in a space that marries old with new.

A rich olive upholstery complements the earthy brown tones in the floor, and rustic brick. While waiting for their bus or train, customers will be able to charge their personal electronics from the comfort of their seats, thanks to the installation our innovative inPower Flex modules.  The building also features an exhibit tracing the area’s rich railroad history. The facility, which is about 10 times the size of the old station, is part of a major upgrade of the St. Louis to Chicago Amtrak corridor.
