Production Assembler – Upholsterer – General Labourer

We are looking for an experienced Production Assembler Upholsterer, with manual dexterity and the ability to use manual tools, who will be responsible for the assembly and upholstering of Arconas products.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • To be able to perform fabric upholstery and assembly of various Arconas products
  • Experience working with polyurethane foam, fabric, vinyl, metals, plastic, and aluminum
  • Align parts or workpieces to ensure proper assembly
  • Various sub-assembly work using screwdrivers, wrenches, and ratchets
  • Ability to read and carry out job instruction successfully
  • Ability to use a computer ERP system to track time and materials
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and that the work area is kept clean and safe
  • Will be cross-trained into other duties within the warehouse and production area and an understanding that duties and responsibilities can be changed for short or long-term durations based on operational needs
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in furniture or related industry a must
  • Experience in a manufacturing industry is an asset
  • Knowledge of different fabrics and vinyl for upholstery
  • To be able to determine the correct tool(s) for selected upholstery jobs
  • Ability to use a staple gun and other various upholstery tools
  • Excellent manually hand dexterity
  • Creative thinker
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective oral and written communications skills (English a MUST)
  • Ability to contribute to a team environment
  • Must be meticulous with their work
  • Goal-oriented to meet deadlines
  • Must be comfortable working in a diverse environment

Working conditions

  • Must be comfortable working in a diverse environment
  • Could be exposed to varied internal temperatures within the Plant due to external weather conditions
  • Fast-paced environment

Physical requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Requirement for strong dexterity in hands and fingers to manipulate heavy types of vinyl for upholstery and assembly


The Details

  • This is a full-time, permanent position working from our Mississauga plant.
  • Hours: 7:30am to 4:00pm.
  • Compensation includes a competitive base and bonus, with group benefits, GRSP matching, vacation, and plant closure between Christmas and New Year’s.
