The new amenities at Fort Lauderdale Int’l Airport has passengers talking. “Passengers bound for New York’s LaGuardia Airport on a Spirit flight before noon were among the first to experience the new concourse. ‘The seats are fantastic, very comfortable,’ said Fred Mortman, 69, of Brooklyn, who was returning to New York after spending the winter at his condo in Boca Raton.”

‘When the improvements are done, Concourse G will have 14 gates, up from 10 in adjoining Concourse H, which it will replace by 2017. Twelve of those gates will be “swing” gates configured to handle both domestic and international flights. Two gates in the new concourse — G-12 and G-13 — are now open to domestic flights only and others should be operating in coming months. Six will be open by end of year, George said.’
