Albert Ellis Airport’s New Greenfield Terminal

Albert Ellis Airport’s New Greenfield Terminal, a 58,000-square-foot building, has brought modern amenities to the airport and more terminal space to the growing demand of passengers.

The new terminal is expected to accommodate additional airlines and is equipped with the latest technology. Located in Jacksonville, NC the building was designed and constructed by RS&H a renown engineering firm that provided all site upgrades as well as accommodated future expansion and development of general aviation, hangars, FAA air traffic control tower, fuel farm, and rental car facilities.

Our local sales rep Nancy Christian furniture dealer Delve Interiors (North Carolina)  worked closely with the airport, having presented a variety of seating lines from Arconas, that were considered for the terminal. Airport operators liked the theme of « variety » wanting to provide a holistic seating arrangement for passengers. From tandem seating, to cluster and counter height seating, the airport selected Place™ for  comfort, performance, and integrated power supply, Flyaway Clusters for family and business travellers, and inPower™ Bars with matching barstools for technophiles and passengers working on-the-go.

The airport was looking for a short lead time as well to meet the grand opening. Arconas is proud to have been selected to provide seating, power solutions, and waste and recycling bins throughout the terminal.

Points of Interest:
– The current passenger terminal opened in 1971 and has 3 gates in the 35,000 square foot space.
– The new terminal building will offer 4 gates in a 58,000 square foot space.
– For a relatively small population, the airport supports 340 local jobs and generates about 191 million dollars in revenue.
