The $23.5 million expansion project was recently unveiled at McAllen-Miller International Airport. The airport expansion project added 55,000 square feet of new terminal space and a renovated 40,000 square feet of existing terminal space. Some of the project highlights saw the addition of a sixth boarding gate, additional passenger holding space featuring bernù aero seating, and a widening of the security checkpoint and baggage claim area.
Arconas installed over 500 bernù aero seats. Featured from the seating series are linear and curved units with loop arms and inline tables, and six-seat cluster configurations. Most seating units have the inPower Flex charging module installed. A collection of bernù wood benches were installed in alcoves along the departure corridor and the baggage claim area.
The grand opening highlights can be seen in the news clip provided by KRGV News in Rio Grande Valley, Texas. The city’s aviation director — Elizabeth Suarez — says the new space opened just in time for holiday travel and went on to say, “we’ve got the expanded restaurant area and newsstand area. We’ve got an expanded waiting area and forty- thousand additional square feet.” Source KRGV.com.
