Iconic sewing machine company Bernina has installed Molecule in their latest flagship store in Zug, Switzerland. Designed by Davide Tonizzo, Molecule consists of two components: a cylindrical upholstered seat and a curved backrest finished in wood veneer with upholstered pad or solid surface table top.
When redesigning the store, Toni Imboden, founder of Bernina, wanted to position the brand with a new appearance, and integrate a lounge. Due to the lack of space, it was clear they needed something compact – not large like a sofa or armchair. A little research brought them to the Molecule which “looked perfect” to complement the space.
The two modular components of Molecule combine into an endless array of configurations and are designed to simply reconfigure on the fly to respond to the changing needs of any given space. We love seeing great Canadian design in Europe!
