Passenger Traffic Sets Record at Wichita Int’l Airport, having had its busiest June on record. A total of 154,364 passengers flew in and out of the airport, netting an increase of 6.2% over June 2014. Previously, the busiest June occurred in 2008 with 154,124 passengers. The current record is particularly impressive given the fact that there were 23% fewer flights and 7% fewer seats than in June 2008, yet enplanements increased 2% from June 2008.
Factors attributing to the increase include:
· an increase in capacity over June 2014 (2,074 more seats)
· the YMCA National Gymnastics Championships held in Wichita in June
· Passengers wanting to fly in/out of our new terminal
Congratulations Wichita Airport! Arconas is proud to have supplied flyaway seating and inPower Flex for the terminal expansion project. Here are a few images highlighting the renovation.
