Arconas recently completed a project at St. John`s Airport, in Newfoundland, Canada involving the installation of our suite of airport furniture, from seating, to power, and waste and recycling. The terminal underwent a renovation to expand its capacity as a result of increasing passenger volumes. Travelers can now enjoy their time waiting at the airport surrounded by Arconas’ specialized high-performance airport furniture.
Bernù Aero seating was installed all throughout the new terminal in stunning blue upholstery. This high-performance seating system has a sleek and light design that combines comfort and durability.
Also installed near the windows were Bernù Luxe seats a with an optional chaise. While waiting for a flight, the Bernù Luxe offers great comfort due to its high back rest and footrest. The ergonomically sculpted shape creates a spot for ultimate relaxation for passengers even during long waiting periods. There is no reason to worry or be in a rush.
To keep passengers powered while they wait we also installed inPower flex units with regular AC and USB plugs between seats throughout the terminal. People can charge their phones, laptops, and personal devices from the comfort of their seat. The inPower flex distributes power to multiple seating units from one outlet reducing the need for costly facility electrical work.
If passengers would like to stay charge while also working at a surface, they also have the option of sitting at one of the many inPower bars installed with complementary stools.
The new amenities at St. John`s also include a children`s area which is furnished with Connex modular lounge seating. Because of its inviting features its perfect to create a winding and relaxing atmosphere. Its endless array of linear and curved configurations as well as multiple table options make it one of Arconas’ most versatile seating series.
To complete the terminals furniture needs as part of the expansion project, St. John`s Airport incorporated Arconas’ X-Series waste and recycling containers. The X series are commercial recycling bins that are built for high-use applications and are maintenance friendly. The all stainless steel bins are easy to clean, and complement the metal finishes used throughout the terminal.
After finishing the first phase of the airport terminal extension, the second phase will begin in 2019. After the completion in 2022, St. John`s airport will have tripled the seating capacity.
