We are now on a determined path to growth, which will lead to great opportunities for both personal and professional advancement. We are looking for a detailed, organized, and self-directed Junior Buyer to join our team.

The Buyer is responsible for the timely placement of Purchase Orders (PO’s) and delivery of materials to meet customers’ order requirements within approved guidelines, while doing so with professionalism and a service attitude.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Creation of PO's within the ERP system
  • Distribution and coordination of POs to suppliers
  • Follow up with the suppliers to ensure that all PO’s have been received and accounted for
  • Maintain communication with suppliers to ensure that the materials are ready before the due date of the PO and that all necessary corrective actions are in place for outstanding orders with suppliers that are on open PO’s
  • Coordinate with the Logistics Coordinator and transportation companies for pickup of the goods from the supplier, including any necessary paperwork and monitoring of all goods in transit
  • Receipts of PO's into the system when shipping from overseas vendors
  • Contact suppliers and transportation companies to schedule, expedite deliveries, and resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems
  • Maintaining the Goods in Transit report regularly, with complete visibility of transit time and expected dates of arrival of goods
  • Maintaining weekly reports on open PO’s, Goods in Transit, and maintaining the vendor base information
  • Generating reports on the supplier’s performance periodically
  • Communicate with suppliers on corrective actions of Non-Compliance
  • Creating purchase orders for freight vendors as per the freight quotes from the Logistics coordinator
  • Support in receiving the freight PO's in the ERP system as soon as the shipments leave the warehouse
  • Ensuring that the system is clean with all open PO's reviewed and closed if the partial quantities are not going to be received
  • Updating the suppliers' lead times as and when there are changes from the supplier
  • Maintaining the MOQ’s and establishing the restock quantities of parts in the ERP
  • Regular maintenance of the parts list and the related information
  • All other activities as required or assigned by the Supply Chain Management department

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Business Administration, with a certificate in purchasing, logistics, or supply chain management
  • Three (3) years of progressive supply chain management experience would be an asset
  • Detail-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, vendors, and customers
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, with a proficiency in Microsoft Office, and working experience with ERP systems - preference will be given to those candidates with prior experience in using Epicor Kinetics
  • Must have intermediate Microsoft Excel skills

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment setting, or in a dedicated home office with reliable internet connectivity to support efficient and uninterrupted work, subject to managerial approval based on operational need

Physical requirements:

  • Ordinary office setting physical demands, sitting, and working on a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
